Raygun opens up about being ‘reduced to a meme’ two years after Olympics backlash | #yahoonewsau

In response to the recently-released Netflix documentary all about the breakdancer, Raygun told PEOPLE that “Some parts were absolutely difficult to watch”.

“To be honest, it was a really hard time for breakers around the world, and it was an especially hard time for Australian B girls because of the attention that the community got, the scrutiny, the harassment.”

Although she felt she had been “reduced to a viral meme” by the world, the 39-year-old explained that the “whole experience has made me a lot stronger, a lot more resilient.”

“It’s been really nice that I’ve had a chance to share my experiences… and inspire people to be themselves and to get through what life throws at you.”
